[ jyuto fits so perfectly in his arms, the way his chin rests on his shoulder. kogami takes his time to answer, remembering the little snippets of moments during christmas eve, and their date -- the moments he's snagged: ]
How you always seem warm and polite with the others but never close. [ he pauses, quietly contemplative. ] And how, even when you're different with me, you seem to be unused to having people stick around.
[ There are a lot of factors that contribute to that. Jyuto knows exactly what's made him the way he is now. This isn't the place for him to Kogami, though. And where might that put him, if Kogami knows? With Kogami knowing that much and Jyuto so little in turn, if there's anything he's learned by now, it's that things in this world aren't always met by an equilibrium. He'll do what he can to keep this scale balanced. ]
There's a reason. [ He says vaguely. Kogami deserves that much for dissecting him this far, and at the very least, Jyuto's flattered that Kogami's curious enough to study him so closely. It has to mean something. Even so, he doesn't want to say more than that. He nestles his nose against the curve of Kogami's neck and takes the thin, silver chain of his dog tag between his teeth. He nibbles and tugs at it once, smiling against Kogami's skin and then kissing it with the necklace in his mouth.
Then, he draws away and releases it. ] Maybe I'll tell you someday.
[ kogami's breath catches when he feels the shift of his dogtags, his gaze becoming heated, darkening when he watches the thin chin between those plush, full lips, that lovely mouth he had been privileged to sample time after time, the satisfaction and warmth of having jyuto open up to him.
there's a reason, he knows -- there are always reasons to why people are the way they are, and kogami wants to learn more about jyuto, who he is, and what ties those little things together. those noble reasons, however, take a backseat to the primal gutpunch jyuto presently inspires, and all he can see is that smile, the vivid green of his eyes. the softest touch of his mouth sends his pulse racing, and the thin chain feels like it burns when it rests against his neck again.
his grip tightens on him, briefly. ]
Someday. [ his fingers come up now, gently grasping his chin, thumb gently smoothing over his lower lip as if he could divine his secrets just like this. ] I can wait.
[ Beneath the pad of Kogami's thumb, Jyuto's smile doesn't change. His eyes are the same as they'd been the day the two of them had locked eyes from across that room in the government center. The arms around him hold him fast, and Jyuto's lashes flutter, his gaze brushing Kogami's lips once before he closes the distance between their faces and kisses him, soft. Even so, it's not the kiss of an animal weak or cornered— more like the venom of the snake, ensnaring something in its coils. He wants Kogami to want him more. How good it feels to be wanted so badly. ]
Wait, then. [ Whispered. ] Wait and I'll tell you.
[ He has to go. The clinic staff is probably wondering where he is. ] —Kogami, I have to go back in.
[ he knows the look -- he knows how bold it is, and how jyuto is tightening his grip on him in his own way, even if it's the other man that's caught in his embrace. jyuto plays his own games, clever and shrewd in ways that draw kogami's attention. they're both wild in different ways, created to complement each other, and in him he sees a mirror of himself, a man fitting in all the right places.
jyuto coaxes patience with a kiss, and it lingers, sweet as poison as he licks his own lips, as if pursuing the taste of him. there is no question that kogami is entranced, but at that reminder the world comes back into focus again -- and he only smiles as he releases him graciously. it's different from when he made him late for the christmas eve party, but then again, kogami has always liked being unpredictable. ]
[ Jyuto doesn't want to let go of Kogami. It's strange to him, but he doesn't. He levels his gaze silently, wanting Kogami to know this. He has to pull away. If he doesn't, he'll be stuck like this forever, standing idly and flirting without direction. Jyuto doesn't know what's gotten into himself, but. ]
